Volkswagen Group Award 2024

On 2 July, Volkswagen AG presented Handtmann Metallgusswerk with the Group Award in the ‘Transformation’ category.

With this award, Volkswagen AG honours its suppliers for outstanding partnership, long-standing values and jointly achieved successes. The awards were dedicated to the topic of transformation and primarily reflected future issues.

Members of the board of the Volkswagen Group and the brands, as well as sponsors from Group Procurement, presented the awards in 10 categories, which reflect the most important fields of action of the procurement strategy, and thanked last year's best suppliers for their commitment and cooperation. In front of around 350 guests from 29 countries, 10 different award winners were honoured from among the 40 nominated companies in the categories of Costs, Sustainability, Launches, Resilience, Digitalisation, Transformation, Brands and Regions, Local Hero, Battery and Partnership.

With this award, Handtmann was honoured for its extraordinary achievements, high level of innovation and its partnership-based and transparent cooperation. During the award ceremony, particular emphasis was placed on Handtmann's pioneering role in the field of megacasting and the associated establishment of a modern process in Germany and Europe for the optimal use of existing locations.

The laudatory speech emphasised the excellent cooperation with the development, quality and logistics departments and the high level of commitment to maintaining the supply chain. It also highlighted the fact that Handtmann achieves savings and efficiency gains through its innovative strength and willingness to transform, which leads to attractive offers and a high level of competitiveness.
