Personnel reshuffle: Messe Düsseldorf strengthens its leading position

Messe Düsseldorf's leisure trade fairs will be bundled within the operational management in the future. Responsibility for boot, the world's largest water sports trade fair, will therefore be transferred from Wolfram N. Diener, Chairman of the Management Board, to Marius Berlemann. The new operational managing director will also be responsible for CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf, the leading international trade fair for mobile travel, among other things.

In return, drupa, the world's No. 1 for print technologies, is no longer part of the operational management but is now the responsibility of Wolfram N. Diener, who is already in charge of numerous industry trade fairs organised by Messe Düsseldorf: the global leading trade fairs for the wire, cable and tube industries, wire and Tube, the international trade fair for industrial valves VALVE WORLD EXPO, the world's largest packaging trade fair interpack, the world's leading trade fairs for the metallurgy and foundry industry GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST – as well as the numerous trade fairs from the portfolios around the world. In addition, there is the world's leading trade fair for unmanned systems and robotics in the USA, XPONENTIAL, which will be held for the first time in Europe in Düsseldorf in February 2025 with XPONENTIAL Europe.

Wolfram N. Diener emphasises the advantages of the new responsibilities: "Our trade fair portfolios are now organised in such a way that they can develop synergies in the best possible way in the coming years. This will enable us to strengthen the leading position of our flagship fairs in Düsseldorf and worldwide – and drive their further growth."

In addition to boot and CARAVAN SALON, Marius Berlemann is responsible for the world's leading trade fair for plastics, K, the leading international trade fairs for medical technology and healthcare, MEDICA and COMPAMED, the leading trade fair for rehabilitation, prevention, integration and care, REHACARE, the global number one for wines and spirits, ProWein, the world's largest retail trade fair EuroShop, the leading trade fair for retail technology EuroCIS, the world's leading trade fair for the glass industry glasstec, the global leading trade fair for safe and healthy work A+A, the international cosmetics and wellness trade fair BEAUTY DÜSSELDORF and the international hairdressing trade fair TOP HAIR. In addition, there are numerous foreign trade fairs in the respective portfolios.

Marius Berlemann is looking to the future with commitment: "In my position as Managing Director Operations, my focus is on continuously expanding the position of the Düsseldorf world-leading trade fairs in the sense of our home base. This also includes strengthening our foreign business in order to attract even more international trade fair guests to Düsseldorf."

In addition to the operational realignment, Bernhard J. Stempfle, Managing Director of Finance and Infrastructure, will continue to be responsible for the entire finance department as well as the "Digital Strategy & Communication" and "Technology" divisions. Stempfle emphasises: "We want to offer our industries the best basis for their business success and are not only constantly developing our digital services, but are also expanding our investments in our state-of-the-art and highly functional exhibition centre in Düsseldorf. This is how we create the best return on investment for our customers."

The management of Messe Düsseldorf, consisting of Wolfram N. Diener, Marius Berlemann and Bernhard J. Stempfle, is thus ideally positioned to further expand the company's strong competitive position together with the workforce.
