Eisengießerei Theodor Schultz GmbH & Co, a 3rd generation family business, specialises in the manufacture of cast iron products for a wide range of industries, e.g. the automotive industry, conveyor systems, toolmaking and mechanical engineering, medical technology and the music industry. With 65 years of tradition and experience as well as being a member of the Federal Association of Energy Buyers (VEA), the Th. Schultz iron foundry has recognised the need to reduce its CO2 emissions and has set itself the goal of climate neutrality. For this reason, the existing cupola furnace is being replaced by a coreless induction furnace.
The Th. Schultz iron foundry therefore commissioned OTTO JUNKER GmbH to supply and commission a medium-frequency coreless induction furnace system. The 1.7 tonne induction furnace is equipped with a 12-pulse IGBT frequency converter and a melting capacity of 1,200 kW. In addition to a glycol-free air/water recooling system with integrated heat recovery, the system is equipped with the OCP+ temperature monitoring system for permanent coil monitoring.
With high operational reliability and maximum availability, OTTO JUNKER thus supports Th. Schultz GmbH's own climate plan in Warendorf.
