Companies can now submit their entries for the European Die Casting Competition 2025/2026. The Initiative Zink, which has previously organized its own zinc die casting competition, will be support the event as an official partner.
The European Die Casting Competition comprises nine categories representing specific fields of application for the process. Entries can be submitted until July 11, 2025 in the following areas: mobility, mechanical engineering, healthcare, building technology, locking systems and security, home and garden, electrical engineering, lifestyle and sanitary. A panel of recognized experts in the field of die casting will evaluate the submitted entries according to criteria such as degree of innovation, quality, cost-effectiveness, resource efficiency, sustainability and degree of difficulty.
The European Die Casting Competition aims to highlight the innovation and versatility of die casting and to demonstrate the high quality standards and efficiency of this shaping process using non-ferrous metals. According to the organizers, the aim is to help emphasize its importance in various industries and to honor the leading solutions developed by manufacturers. The competition is organized by the Verband Deutscher Druckgießereien (VDD), the Euroguss trade fair and the Initiative Zink. Supporters are the Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie (BDG), Aluminum Deutschland (AD) and the Europäische Forschungsgemeinschaft Magnesium (EFM).
