Flow meter with cover

The S 6 flow meter series from Bühler Technologies, Ratingen, Germany, for monitoring the sample gas flow to the analyzer is now being supplemented by a retrofittable cover.

Flow meters perform various tasks in gas analysis processing systems. The generally very demanding applications require the use of particularly corrosion-resistant materials and a high level of operational reliability.

The new cover can also be easily retrofitted to devices that have already been installed. The transparent and ventilated cover covers the front and both sides of the flow meter and offers reliable protection against unintentional adjustment of the measuring point, particularly for devices equipped with a ring initiator. At the same time, the measuring tube is protected against light impacts. The cover is made of corrosion-resistant polycarbonate. It is thermoformed in one piece. According to the supplier, the product benefits of the S 6 series - corrosion-resistant materials, simple removal, measuring tube easy to replace, optional limit value switch - are retained. The measuring tube can still be replaced after removing the cover without further disassembly of the flow meter.

In addition to purely monitoring and regulating the flow, the flow meters can also be used to monitor the degree of contamination of the filters in the treatment line upstream of the flow meter. For this purpose, they can be equipped with electrical limit switches on the measuring tube. These are connected to the control system via suitable isolating switch amplifiers. The versions with integrated needle valve also allow a specific flow rate value to be set.
