The Die Casting Day will take place from 16 to 18 January 2024 parallel to EUROGUSS at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre. The Federal Association of the German Foundry Industry (BDG) and the Association of German Die Casting Foundries (VDD) are jointly organising the 23rd edition of the conference at the leading trade fair for the die casting industry. The presentations will cover innovative trends along the entire die casting value chain, such as megacasting, digitalisation, AI, recycling, e-mobility, hydrogen economy and CO2 footprint. Elke Radtke, Environmental and Occupational Safety Officer at the BDG, will present the FRED CO2 calculation tool.
The highlight of the Die Casting Day will be the award ceremony of the European Die Casting Competition for the second time. It will take place on the first day of the fair as part of the press tour at the opening of the fair. The BDG has once again supported the VDD and EUROGUSS in organising the competition. On 17 October 2023, the twelve-member jury at the BDG on Hansaallee in Düsseldorf selected the winners in the aluminium, zinc and magnesium categories from 25 castings.
