Acquisition of ALBA Metall Saar

In August, GMH Gruppe announced the acquisition of ALBA Metall Saar GmbH, an established scrap and metal trading company based in Bous, Saarland.

This acquisition is a further step in the strategic expansion of the steel scrap market and is intended to strengthen the group's commitment to sustainability and secure resources in the long term. By expanding its geographical presence in southwest Germany, GMH Gruppe will expand its scrap recycling network, increase processing capacity and create additional value in the supply chain. The Federal Cartel Office has already approved the transaction under competition law.

As part of the takeover, ALBA Metall Saar GmbH will be renamed GMH Recycling Saar GmbH and seamlessly integrated into the group's organisational structure. The company will be incorporated into the processes of GMH Recycling, with full merger expected by 2025.
