What began as a small foundry in 1923 has developed into a forward-looking partner for machine-moulded iron casting over its 100-year history. Hawle Guss in Fürstenwalde celebrates 100 years as a foundry location.
Hawle Guss has been part of the Hawle Deutschland Group since 1995 and is Hawle Armaturen's main supplier of cast components for valve production. In addition, customer castings are produced for various applications in mechanical engineering.
The foundry site in Fürstenwalde played a key role in the development of spheroidal graphite cast iron (GJS) in the former GDR in the 1960s. In the course of German reunification, the foundry succeeded in transforming itself from a series manufacturer within the planned economy into a modern foundry for sophisticated cast iron blanks.
The foundry in Fürstenwalde has specialised in particular in the surface quality required for Hawle fittings and tight dimensional tolerances for raw casting contours close to machining.
The celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the site took place in August 2024. Customers, employees, suppliers and long-standing partners were thanked for their loyalty in a very personal setting with the participation of creative ideas from all employees at the site.
Despite the current difficult conditions, Hawle Guss proves every day that Germany has a future as a foundry location: Short distances, high quality, qualified employees.
